Student Programs
Two Part Invention offers educational programs for students of all ages, both in-school and with community organizations. Choose from these established programs, or work with the musicians to develop an individualized program for your project, school curriculum, or special event. New programs are continually in development.
- Small World – flute and guitar music from around the world, introducing younger students to classical music, with a brief geography lesson as well.
- Tangos in Your Town – Classical music from Latin-America for flute and guitar, traditional and modern.
- Morning Star – Music in Moravian America – selections from the historical archives of America's 18th century Moravian settlements, arranged for flute and guitar.
- Here and Now – Flute and classical guitar music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
- Pas de Deux – Dances and rhythms for flute and guitar. From waltzes, minuets, and gavottes to tangos, sambas, and more.
- In- school concerts – exploring the wide repertoire for flute and guitar, with selections ranging from Latin-American music to the classics and new commissioned works, Bach to the blues, tangos to Telemann, and Schubert to sambas; and providing students an opportunity to talk with the performers. Programs are tailored for appropriate age groups.
- Master classes – Advanced student instrumentalists. Flutists, guitarists, or flute/guitar duos -- can participate in master classes, performing selected repertoire for the musicians of TWO PART INVENTION, who will offer constructive suggestions and performance tips. All participants in the master class are welcome at all associated performances, and non-performing class participants are encouraged as well.
- Italian Serenade – Music of Vivaldi, Paganini, Giuliani, Briccialdi, Carulli, Scarlatti, and more
- Music of Both Americas – Music from Colonial America to the modern USA, plus classical selections from Brazil, Argentina, and more.
